Top of the Morning!

Good morning!

I, unlike many lucky students, have Friday classes. So here I am again up at 6:07 a.m. on a Friday morning. Luckily, though, today is going to be a great day! :] I have 3 classes today; I’ll be done by noon. Then, I’m going to come home and do a bodyweight workout under the sun in the field behind my apartment!

Next, if our dryer is fixed, I’m going to tackle some homework and laundry. If not, then I’ll do the homework & then venture to a laundromat because I’m a simplistic person, and I don’t have many clothes left! :0

When all that is said and done, I have to wait patient for Alex, Erica, and my mom to get here! Yippee!

I am so excited!! I just want this day to go quickly until they arrive and then sloooooow down. :]

Haha! Alright, I’m going to finish my coffee and oatmeal and get ready for this marvelous day!

(Me waiting ;] )

My First Day

Instead of a wordy story about my first day, I thought I’d just tell you my schedule:

5:45 a.m.: Wake up to a freezing cold bedroom. Hide under covers for a while scrolling through Instagram & Twitter to get my daily creep on.

5:55 – 6:05 a.m.: Get dressed, brush teeth, pull hair out of pony tail and wave it around a bit to look like it’s a purposeful mess.

*helllloooo first day selfie Image

6:05 – 6:15 a.m.: Make daily oatmeal {2/3 cup oatmeal, just enough milk, almond butter, 1/2 banana, honey, pumpkin pie spice} and brew a strong cup of coffee {+nonfat milk!}

6:15 – 6:20 a.m.: Allow that to cool & make my lunch {almond butter, other 1/2 of banana, spice, honey, and flax seed sandwich & a carrot}

6:20 – 6:40 a.m.: Eat breakfast & continue to creep on various social networking sites.

6:40 – 6:50 a.m.: Pack my backpack & my swimming essentials for Gregory after classes! {the awesome gym on campus}

6:50 – 7:00 a.m.: Walk to conveniently located bus stop.

7:00 – 7:25 a.m.: Take my first shuttle to campus {the seats are itchy, by the way.}

7:25 – 7:30 a.m.: Find my way to Gregory to put my junk in the locker I rented.

7:30 – 8:00 a.m.: Get to M408D, which I have with Katie!

8:00 – 8:50 a.m.: CALCULUS WITH GUS. My profs name is Gustavo, but Katie and I thought it would be cool for us to secretly be on a first name, nickname basis with him.

8:50 – 9:50 a.m.: Sit in Welch because it’s my dead hour on MWF, which I thought would be cool, but it is most definitely not.

9:50 – 10:50 a.m.: Chem 301. Again, a class I have with Katie. It was boring though. Stoichiometry = bleh.

10:50 – 11:00 a.m.: Rush to find the CLA & get to BIO 311C.

11:00 – 11:50 a.m.: BIO. The professor is really passionate about biology, so hopefully the class will be cool.

11:50 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Get to Gregory & change to swimsuit.

12:00 – 12:20 p.m.: Swim some laps {Tabata style}

12:20 – 12:40 p.m.: Change quickly and run to catch a shuttle home while eating my lunch as I walked {which, by the way, did not fill me up AT ALL, I was ready for dinner by 4:30}

12:40 – 1:05 p.m.: Shuttle.

1:05 – 2:45 p.m.: I chilled & read some syllabi. I wrote down important test dates in my planner. But I mostly chilled. And creeped some more.

2:45 – 3:10 p.m.: Shuttle back to campus to workout with my sister, Sabrina!

3:10 – 3:45 p.m.: Awkwardly wander around the jam-packed weight room with Sabrina & Mathew until we eventually gave up.

3:45 – 4:15 p.m.: Shuttle home. Ohhhh, I-35 traffic, how you frustrate me.

4:15 – 4:30 p.m.: Make dinner in my mini George Foreman :]

4:30 – now: Read more syllabus. Chill. Consider doing chem homework. Not do chem homework… yet. Resist the urge to grocery shop. Try to nap. Yada yada yada.

That’s my day!

How’s yours been?

Gone to Texas!

I just popped in to say I start school tomorrow! But tonight, I’m going to the big rally for freshman, Gone to Texas. :]

But first, I get to go to Gone to Engineering!

Awww yeaaah for school spirit!

Hook ‘Em! \m/

Up & At ‘Em!

Good morning!

Sorry for not posting yesterday, it was a bit hectic and I was exhausted!

It is currently 7:32 a.m. and I’ve already been up for an hour and had my breakfast. If you can’t tell, I am definitely a morning person! If that doesn’t convince you, then listen to what crazy things I did last night:

Fell asleep at 10 pm.

WOOOHOOOO, my first night as a college kid living on my own and I fell asleep at 10. But, hey, I’m not complaining, I enjoy my mornings! :] After all, look at my view: the sun is streaming in, a wonderful bowl of oatmeal {yes, I am obsessed}, and a strong cup of coffee. I am ready to tackle today!

On the agenda for today is:

  • Strength train & stretch
  • Find a Woodforest
  • Patiently wait for the gas company to activate our gas
  • {Hopefully} take the bike route to school
  • And go to the Engineering Honors meet-up tonight

I’m trying to plan out my day so that I don’t feel like a lost puppy. I like having responsibilities, but I prefer them to be organized.

On a complete tangent, if you are not a fan of oatmeal, I am here to tell you that you are wrong ❤ If you don’t like the texture, then I completely understand. I’m a texture person too. But, if you just don’t like how it tastes then try this combo: oats, almond butter {or PB}, banana, honey, cinnamon. OH MAN. Your life will be changed. Mine was. Now I’m just waiting a bit for my oatmeal to digest so that I can use it as fuel for my workout.

I’m done rambling, sooooo have a VERY merry Monday {and the rest of the week!} :]

Last Day…

Today is my last day in the ole Magnolia. In all honestly, I’m finding it extremely hard to grasp. Tomorrow night, I will be falling asleep in an unfamiliar place and a strange bed. Don’t get me wrong, I’m so incredibly excited to be starting this new adventure in my life, but at the same time, I’m so torn. Bittersweet does not even begin to describe it.

People from my high school used to always complain about this “small” town. And I must admit, I did too. But even though it got boring at times and all I wanted to do was leave, this place did become a part of me. So many friends were made, experiences and memories made, and adventures had.

I’ve spent most of today by myself, packing. Instead of thinking deep profound thoughts about my future, my mind has been pretty blank. I’ve found that I don’t really have an appetite and I’m torn between jumping for joy and sobbing uncontrollably.

I’ve never been the type of person to get homesick. I get peoplesick. I’m the kind of person that gets passionate about a lot of things and people, so it gets hard to have to be away from them. However, I won’t be completely alone in Austin. I have plenty of family there!

Not only that, but I don’t even feel like I’m going to school. Sure, I lost a pretty penny to textbooks {even though they’re rented!} but it doesn’t feel like I’m about to learn again. Oh, I’m sure that statement will slap me in the face when I wake up bright and early for my 8 a.m. calculus class.

I’ve always been told that I seem older than I actually am {most of the time} and that I’m more mature than most people my age. Now, headed off to a new place, I am afraid of feeling small, not confident, or naive there and it makes me nervous. I like to be in control of situations or at least a small part of one.

I kind of feel like this:

I’m hoping that my training plan will allow me to stay sane, because that’s at least one thing that I can control.

Anyway, sorry about the rant (if that’s what this is). I’ll pour my love of fall into this blog tomorrow, because today I feel too odd.

Peace and love, folks.

And wish me luck tomorrow.

Best Day Ever.

Well, that may be an over-exaggeration, but it was pretty great! :]

I basically got to hang out with Alex {my love} allllll day and have a beautiful latte & bowl of oats {two of my obsessions.}

Then, this evening, I went to the gym for BodyPump. Surprisingly though, I didn’t really break a sweat. Maybe I’ve gotten stronger or maybe I just accidentally didn’t load up as much as I normally do, but everything felt to easy.

Now, Erica is making tortilla soup and I’m listening to the thunder in the skies and desperately hoping for rain.

I know, I know, I’m not really great at organizing my thoughts or formulating pretty sentences. That’s why I prefer math. Numbers are clean and concise.

P.S. Tomorrow I am going to pour my love for autumn out for everyone to read and share an autumn inspired recipe!

And now I’ll leave you with some wise words 🙂

Half Marathon.

In November 2011, I “ran” a half marathon in 3:15. I know, call me speed racer. Afterwards, I learned real quick that it was easy for me to lose my ability to run far distances, even at such a snail speed.

Well, I have devised a person half marathon training plan, although there is no race I’m working towards. I just want to go the distance.

On the agenda for today is:

1.75 mi @ 10:23 min/mi @ 0.5 incline + strength training

I’m so incredibly excited about the training plan, but the thing is it goes from now until December 29th. So, I need to be held accountable.

The plan consists of 3 running days, cross training days, 1.5 strength training days, {sometimes 2} rest days, and LOTS of stretching and yoga.

I’ll need everyone to keep my accountable because I know that I’ll get stressed and busy and lazy sometimes!

Enjoy these wise words.

Welcome to my world. This blog is going to be mother transcribed events of and life and feelings. Sounds fun, right? 😉 It will consist of everything from moving away from home, starting college, my adventures through life, and my journey to a healthier, stronger, and happier me.
